Threat Debt:
A New Lens on
Cyber Defense
Cybersecurity is at an inflection point. The patch window has collapsed, AI-speed discovery is finding novel attack paths faster than defenders can map them, and the disciplines most security programs still run on — vulnerability counts, severity scores, patch SLAs — were built for a threat timeline that no longer exists.
Adversary opportunity doesn’t live in any single finding. It lives in how vulnerabilities, identity gaps, and configuration weaknesses combine into paths that reach what matters.
Threat debt is a different model. It measures the accumulated adversary opportunity in your environment — contextualized by the adversaries that target you, the assets you cannot afford to lose, and the defenses you’ve proven work — and gives security, IT, and the business a shared scoreboard for paying it down.
